Although it is difficult to fight against a brand such as apple i did my research first before buying as a present and the interaction with other apple devices already in the family and the good reviews of its performance as a fitness aid persuaded me. We went for the older model as some of the additional features of the series 6 are more nice to have then must have and the lower price of the older model was the deal maker. As you’d expect from a present to a teenager it is all set up and working and a lot of the functionality already working and tested and i have no doubt that the fitness functions will be fully explored once the christmas turkey and chocolates are gone.
I treated myself to this as amazon do it over 5 payments so it hardly seems like it’s costing much, but it rocks, i had the very first edition watch and ended up looking for something more sports oriented and i have since been through a lot of different options and ended up coming back to the apple watch with an iphone, the apps have some in leaps and bounds an although it mentions only 18 hours battery life i have already seen more than this. Nice watch and nice features at a lot less than the new version6 which only seems to have the ecg extra.
The product itself is as described by apple and great. However, when i received the watch from amazon, there was no plastic packaging and it looked as though the box had been opened. I called amazon and they said they would email me with an explanation as to why there was no plastic packaging and i never heard back. Just not the best for piece of mind really.
Impressed but i still think apple items are overpriced. For the price of a midrange android phone. The watch allows for notifications and fitness tracking.
I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend, after i got the series 6 and she got jealous of me having it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯the price is unbeatable (even though it doesn’t have like 2-3 sensors that series 6 has and that always on display) and for someone that wants the new device on the apple ecosystem but doesn’t care about some ecg of blood pressure sensors, this one is the way to go to. Series 5 in both build quality and functionality, but at a way less expensive price. All in all, she is happy (she’ll get bored of it in a couple months), i am happy, also saved some money. The watch itself works excellent for her needs (if you currently own an series 4/5, i wouldn’t recommend to upgrade to either of se or s6, as you’ll not feel the performance difference). I can see it as a great gift for christmas or birthdays in the next period, so people, follow those price drops and if you get it at a nice price, don’t lose the chanceps: same as s6 aluminium; the body and screen scratches really fast, you might want to buy a case protector (or save for the stainless steel model).
I’ve used this watch for a week so far. I really didn’t think i needed the additional features in the apple watch 6 and i am really happy with my decision, the apple watch se has everything i need and more. One of the main ‘selling points’ of the watch 6 as opposed to this one is the 6 has an always-on display. I actually prefer not having an always-on display – the display on the se comes on flawlessly whenever i tilt my wrist to look at it so no issue at all and helps the battery life. Great for exercise – it tracks heart rate, steps etc. The watch pushes you with reminders to exercise if you’re not meeting your goals – you can turn this off if you want but i find it very motivating. I love that i can control my music using my watch when i am running and can keep my phone safely away in my running belt. Sleep tracking also seems to be very accurate. The default sleep app doesn’t go into detail of deep vs light sleep like my fitbit did, but i think there are third party apps that can do that. Battery life – good, seems it can go about 36 hours on a full charge and then charges very quickly.
My first apple watch andi am obsessed. Bought to help keep me active during lockdown and its doing the trick. When you work an office job its so easy to do such a small amount of activity and this has helped me start my journey back to fitness. Other features are great too but i mainly use it as a fitness tracker. Great option over the series 6 which you would only need if you had more serious health conditions and needed the extra features.
I have bought the apple watch se to hopefully help me get my life back on track and become healthier. First off, i love the design – it feels premium despite not having the premium price tag of the 6, with the exact same design. I didn’t require the extra features of the 6 (blood oxygen sensor and ecg) and with the se being practically the same apart from these features, i was chuffed with the pricetag and took the plunge. I love tracking my workouts, seeing my heartrate, getting more in depth data and seeing how many calories i’ve burnt. It really is a great piece of tech to have if you struggle to stay accountable with losing weight – or if you’re just someone who loves to stay fit. I’ve also used the watch while asleep for the past 3 nights to see my sleep analytics – and it’s really interesting. There are loads of cool apps to try out on the app store. My only minor issues have been as follows:1) i have quite large wrists being overweight and luckily my wrist fits the larger of the two straps included in the box with the watch, although on the very last setting. It’s nice and comfortable on the last setting for me but if you do have wrists on the larger side you may want to consider buying a third party watch strap or one directly from the apple store.

This is my first apple watch. Did consider going for the series 6, but in reality, i don’t really need either watch, so went for the cheaper (in apple’s world) option. Not regretting it, this is a fantastic wearable. Everything is so smooth and swish, looks somewhat futuristic for a watch, but i think that’s part of its appeal. The fitness tracking features are spot on, like the way it focuses on the three rings instead of steps like the majority of trackers do. It does count your steps as well, if you’re into that, but isn’t the priority. Sleep tracking in the apple health app is basic, but soon discovered much more detailed offerings in the app store. Battery life is pretty cack compared to other wearables i own, but then it performs more functions more smoothly than others do, so is an expected trade off and it gets me through a day and a bit. Which is another reason i think i prefer the se to the 6. If i think this is cack, what is an always on display gonna do to the battery life?only thing i’m not keen on is the hand washing timer.
