The ‘amazfit gts’ is a surprisingly good quality watch, even it were twice the price. It has a clear, vibrant, crisp and detailed display, literally dozens of days of battery life (albeit with minimal display settings), does notifications well, is light and pleasingly designed and has a host of health tracking functions – if that’s your bag. I bought it mainly because i wanted a nice looking smartwatch with long battery life and a good range of notification functions – and that’s what i believe i have. The notifications interface to my mobile phone seems to work reliably and displays well and there are literally hundreds of different watch face designs you can download either through the xiaomi zepp app or through third party providers. I haven’t particularly used the health monitoring functions so i can’t comment much on those – except to say that if you are interested in things more than just the pedometer and the heart rate monitor (which i do, sometimes, pay attention to. ) what’s available does look extensive. The only improvement i would suggest is that the display could be ‘woken up’ with a finger touch (perhaps a future firmware or software update might do this?) and / or the ‘shake to wake’ made a little more flexible as i found it would very easily ‘wake up’ in this mode and therefore drain the battery (i got two days in this mode as opposed to ‘press the button to display’ – which has literally given me at least two weeks between recharges. I’m not quite so enamoured of the ‘zepp’ supporting software – which can be a significant drain on your mobile’s resources if you set it up in the suggested mode. Well, there doesn’t appear to be one – except that nagging doubt about software and equipment originating in china.
Great bright display with hundreds of different watch faces available on line to choose from. Comfortable and very light to wear. I have tried various settings but battery only lasts about 5 days but its better than some. Heartbeat, steps, weather, compass , altitude and air pressure available. After turning off the background watch face the battery has now lasted 15 days.
Having owned the amazfit bip i waited eagerly for the gts to become available. It retains the same ‘feel’ as the bip and so it was an easy transition to make. To me, the heart rate and steps seem accurate, or just as accurate as other fitness bands i’ve used. However, i use it mainly for seeing the notifications on my phone. Using the amazfit app, these were easy to set up. The notifications are clearer than the bip. The battery life has been better than i expected; my first charge lasted about 14 days but this could be extended if i downgraded some of the settings. Overall, i am very happy with the gts.
The amazfit gts is my first ‘smart’ watch. I bought this watch after reading hundreds of reviews for various smart watches. I’ve recently taken up running and wanted something to track my runs without having to carry my phone with me. On the gps front i would say it does a pretty good job. It locks into a gps signal in around 10-30seconds. This is slightly longer than my phone would take but nothing i can’t work with, i just have a little stretch whilst waiting for it to get a signal. The tracking is accurate enough for what it want. Sometimes it cuts off a corner or puts me as running on the wrong side of the road etc but it’s more than adequate. It gives you helpful updates throughout your run with a little vibration every km so you can check your time and pace which is easy and clear on the move. I’ve also used the watch to track an swim which was amazingly accurate.
Bought this smart watch as i thought it had the capability to store music however not the case, so quite disappointed. For me that would of made it a 5 star item especially at this price. However really like the look and feel of the watch, a lot of faces to use but i have kept the original as it shows a lot of information from the weather to temperature to health stats. Not too sure about accuracy yet about 3000 steps difference between this and my old tracker, not to say the other tracker may have been inaccurate all this time, will see. Setting up the watch was a different matter, for me quite difficult as i have a xiaomi phone thought connecting to receive notifications would be easy but an hour maybe two latter was ready to throw the watch at the wall. Some help from tech sites online then suddenly watch and phone paired not exactly sure what i did but working ever since. Not exactly tech savvy so this might actually be my issue not the watches. Overall still happy with the watch but less than a week review.
I’m a massive fan of everything xiaomi does. When i found out about the amazfit watch range, i had to have it. You know it’s going to be great quality as i upgraded from the mi band 4, another great piece of kit. Battery life is unreal, accuracy is about as good as it gets for a watch and for just over £100 you would be a fool not to consider it. Also a couple of people have said they like my apple watch, do they look similar?.
No words to describe how beautiful is it. Heart beat is very accurate. The amoled touch screen is just perfect and very vivid. Gps some times works perfect, but some time not. Ar pressure is new feature if you compare with amazfit gtr. I’m using this watch for control my heart beat and monitoring my sleep quality. I did not try yet the interaction with apps functionalities through the watch. Very elegant, well built, light and comfortable to wearing. Is much lighter and thinner than apple watch. No internal memory for music or downloading and install any app.
I am quite fussy when it comes to watches, i have recently tried and returned a fitbit versa 2 (notifications would not work) and a garmin vivoactive 3 (notifications were hit and miss and workouts were too fiddly)this watch though ticks most of the boxes for me, the notifications work every time, workouts are simple and accurate where i have the ability to check. I cannot comment on any gps workouts as i am not in a position to run/cycle outdoors at the moment due to an injury so i have only used the elliptical and freestyle workout method. So all in all very happy with the purchase but there are a couple of negatives i should mention, the battery life is nowhere near 14 days, i have the always on display switched off, the brightness at low, i don’t use gps as mentioned earlier and i have changed the heartrate monitor from every minute to every 5 minutes and i reckon it is more like 7 days, i would say 14 days is impossible. The other thing is the strap, it is garbage.
