Quality materials and very responsive. Wear os still isn’t the best. The only problem for the watch is the os. Wear os does not have a lot of features and has too much that you don’t need. The wear os app is kinda useless, because you can’t do nearly anything. No sleep tracking except for 3rd party apps. The battery life kinda sucks. You have to charge it every day even with nearly no usage. The strap was a little bit big for my hand but that’s fine.
As all the reviews here and elsewhere state this is a good/very good wear os watch, absolutely no argument there. Looks wise the strap is indeed leather and a nice dark brown but if i’d realised it was silicone backed then i’d have saved myself a tenner and gone for the silicone only varient. ‘genuine leather’ is more accurately described as ‘genuine leather bonded to silicone’. Otherwise very pleased, functions very (very) well and a breeze to set up, battery life seems to be as quoted (allowing for initial set-up excesses) and does indeed recharge quickly – 8% to 100% in an hour +-, very pleased the leather does actually look good, just if you prefer it to silicone against your skin then. Oh, and if you like a more traditional watch face then marine commander from the play store is well worth the £1.
Watch is robust and looks high quality. Linking to samsung phone was straight forward with the battery averaging at one and half days. Battery life can be increased by turning off some functions, which can be done through the battery application on the watch. Overall happy with the premium look and functionality, would recommend to someone who likes a smartwatches thats look like a normal watch.
Decided to finally upgrade my old fitbit and i must say this watch is just incredible. I can do so much stuff on it i can make phone calls reply to text messages and google to turn my lights on/ off. The only downside is the battery only lasts about 1. 5 days it even has a torch mode which is brilliant as now i don’t wake the mrs up when i need the toilet in the middle of the nightpros :looks gorgeous best looking smart watch on the market in my opinionlots of features, like weather, google assistant, reply to text make phone calls etclots of watch faces to choose fromdifferent battery modes to increase the battery lifecons:wear os( operating system) has a very poor battery life and causes all wear os watches to drain the battery faster than alternative watch brands like apple os and fitbitgoogle assistant seems to struggle when you talk to it when you’re replying to text messages for example i said ” ok cool let me know how it goes” google said/ heard ” ja kabba klob kla ” which makes no sense whatsoever.
Overall i’m very satisfied, mainly with the physical aspect of it. I like the metal strap (although it was slightly annoying having to go and have it resized the day i got it, but there is nothing you can do to avoid this i guess). It works pretty smoothly and does what i need it to do, only two problems i’ve encountred so far is that for some reason about 60% of the time my location service is not working and can therefore not use it to check the weather or google maps. Second thing is, it cannot sign into public networks on its own, i live in a place where my wifi is a public network and you have to sign in, so it relies solely on the slower bluetooth network for internet conneciton, but this was no major problem except from the initial update which too an eternity.
To get straight to the point, the battery life on this was well below what i was expecting for a £200+ watch. After the first connection and a fully charged battery, the life of the watch was about 10 hours. I put this down to an update and gave it another chance. After i had tuned the watch battery profile to what i would expect (not excessive use) i got just over a day out of the watch. When setting up i struggled to sync the phone and watch. Took about 3 attempts of resetting the watch and then trying again. Wearos is a great addition to android users and acts as a bolt on to you phone. I liked the os this was slick. I had a few lags in swiping when i first set this up but this reduced over time. Music control was great, could even control music volume. Showed me an image from deezer when playing. Reading and reply to messages was all there. Notification we’re good and easy to navigate through.
I thought it as a replacement for a apple watch, but the interface is no that great. Build quality is great, the battery last for a day and a half which is improved from gen 4. But there are software glitches like wifi is getting disconnected and “ok google” is not working most of the time.
Bought for husband as an early xmas present. It’s a brilliant little gadget and i have to be honest it knocks other smart watches out of the water. The only downside is to be able to use some features you need to download the paid apps for them, which is pretty annoying given that you already fork out close to £300 for the watch as it is. Be warned there is a usb lead in the box but no plug, so if you want one that’s another extra you have to pay for.

I did allot of research including reading written reviews and watching videos, each time this wear os watch came out on top even though the same few issues came up in every review. I have been wearing it for over a week now and it’s a great watch. I was a bit concerned from reviews about the battery life but had listened to all the recommendations so knew what to expect. The first day i used it, i played around with it allot and installed apps and updated the watch, the battery life was terrible. I knew this would happen as all reviews said the first few days all the updates would kill the battery. After the first day and all updates were completed the battery seemed to be fine and i played around with the battery settings and got to know what settings did what to the battery. On the daily setting i have been having around 20% battery life left, that’s from 6am-10pm but this is with light use and the watch being used mainly as a normal watch most of the day. Extended i found i can have as much as 40% left. Custom option you can really adjust the settings to what ever you like so if you wanted i guess you could get 2-3 days from the watch but then most of the smart options are turned off. Once the battery gets below 10% it asks you to turn on time only mode which turns the watch in to exactly that a watch for telling the time.
My husband loves his new watch. He said he has reduced the heart rate checking to hourly as he is not using it for sport. He has also changed the watch face to defender to reduce the amount the watch keeps checking things although i suspect it is because he is a land rover nut. He has put on alexa and a few other apps more appropriate to him and all work well as does the sleep checking, phone calls, diary etc. He said it will last all day and is charged in a few minutes while showers etc. He uses a stand charger as he does not like the included one. He recommends it if you are the sort of person that sets it up and does not keep playing with it or you will flatten the battery quickly.
I had been looking to upgrade my huawei watch 2 as the laggy os was starting to get frustrating, and having looked at a few options i settled on the fossil gen 5. First impressions were really good, a nice sized screen but still slim, and a really snappy os. A few weeks in and i remain really pleased, would recommend. The best wearos watch i have owned by far.
I had the black version but it was faulty on calls through the speaker. I also had the fossil sport but one of the lugs on the watch were the pins fit broke so i sent that one back. Shame because it was a great watch for the price but i think the lugs on the watch were made of nylon. Lol if ypur are left handed and want to were the watch on the ‘right hand wrist’there is an app on google play for that called ‘ lefty’ this is for people who are mainly left handed. Or want to were the watch on the right hand wrist. It turns the view of the watches face the other way around. And the three dials are facing the front of the wrist. So now you can were yoyur watch any way arouynd you like how cool is that guys. It was great for gpay and google voice but had no speaker in it. It was very light and comfertable. I ordered another one in gray’ with speaker. And i am very please to say it works great on speaker calls.
I read reviews before purchase and most said it is one of the best smartwatches out at the moment. Totally agree with those reviews. Only had it a couple of weeks and there is so much it can do, i have only tried a few things so far but am well satisfied with the watch and look forward to using it and use more apps etc each day.
Responsive, talks back, can answer calls, heart rate tracker and not to mention swim proof. Shame about wear os not offering a preset option for tracking swimming though, to get around this i usually select other on the watch before swimming, then after my session i change it on my phone google fit app to swimming. Really hoping wear os sort things out so that this amazing watch can be used to its full potential. Battery life isn’t too bad, i got 3 workdays out with custom setting where bluetooth disconnected after certain time and started back up at a certain time. Responsive, talks back, can answer calls, heart rate tracker and not to mention swim proof. Shame about wear os not offering a preset option for tracking swimming though, to get around this i usually select other on the watch before swimming, then after my session i change it on my phone google fit app to swimming.
This is an amazing looking watch with an amazing operating system. Looks classy with thousands of watch faces. Read, (you can even see the pictures which is attached) and reply to your messages regardless of their origin (fb messenger, text, whatsapp etc. ) it has a microphone and a speaker. When you ask something to google assistant it can talk back to you or you can listen to music or take a phone call on your watch. Brilliant heart rate and fitness tracking with a workout personal assistant. Has a gps tracking, wi-fi and nfc for contacless payments which works perfect. It can pair with wireless headphones for your music. Battery easily lasts a whole day with everything turned on. Overall a really good looking classy watch, fitness tracker and a personal assistant.
The watch is excellent, it feels extremely premium and performance has been very good for me. Battery life was initially disappointing but after a week or so it settled down and would last just under 2 days with my usage. I use the ‘daily’ profile mostly, i have found that having tilt-to-wake on has a significant impact on battery life, so i left it off. I also don’t use it for workout tracking or use the location services very much so that would also impact battery life. Unfortunately while the build feels very solid and premium they still haven’t ironed out the issues with the charging ring from the gen 4. After only owning my watch for about 2 months the ring started lifitng from the body and the watch wouldn’t charge. The refund process was seamless and i plan on purchasing another one soon.
Fantastic watch for your android phone with the full range of features including heart rate, waterproof, google pay, always on option, wifi. Moving over from iphobe & apple watch 3 to pixel 4 & the fossil gen 5 has been a treat – both are quicker, more customizable and feature complete. Battery is the one limiting factor – but the quick switching of modes through the pull down menu prevents me ever running out. You will likely need to charge it nightly if you want to enable all features – not a problem for me.
Didn’t think i’d get so much functionality pairing with iphone but pleasantly surprised with the results. No imessage but it works for my 365 email and calendar. Charges in 30 minslooks greatconsneeds a sleep trackerhad to factory reset after adding call answering from iphone. It wouldn’t reconnect to wear os app until this rather drastic step.
Very good smartwatch, but little bit overpriced. It has some problems with connectivity on calling and answering calls but i believe they will fix it with the next software update.
My friends and family all really like it. Some of them are thinking of replacing their apple watches. It feels well made, and solid. A proper watch unlike many smart watches. Wear os definitely needs some improvements (please bring back nest support), and more supported apps would be lovelygreat watch overall. Love the third party watch faces.
Upgraded from the gen 4, the screen is somewhat smaller and the watch is lighter. Performance wise it is much snappier which is especially noticeable when tilting to wake.
I’ve come from the samsung s3 which i’ve had for a few years. The fossil watch has a better display and battery life. Love the google assistant which in my option is better than bixby and also i’m now able to use google pay via the watch as samsung pay only works with few banks some im very happy with the replacement. The only draw back is lack of apps but im not a big user of watch apps so not a real problem and love the fact i can update phone apps via the phone.
Wearos is still a little buggy but not enough to make you dislike using it. Battery life is decent for an android smartwatch. Unless you are doing something very weird you will easily get at least a day out of it even if everything is on. It’s also light and not too big for smaller wrists. I’m guessing the extra memory and better chipset when compared to the older generations makes this overall a much better watch.
Very light and thin, battery lasts a day, charges quick (~30 min). Display is very good, not very bright on auto, but visible. Everything that was important for me and i chose wear os for works. Google keep has good integration. Google maps has good integration. Google calendar + outlook have good integration. This is my first smart watch so i can not compare it to other brands/models. What i love the most is that i can see all my daily meetings at a glance as they are shown on the watch face (first – a calendar watchface – not free, but affordable. Outlook watch face is free but has bug in latest wear os version ).
