Only excellent, operates particularly how i want it and can only see it going from energy to energy with the updates. The only niggle is the bluetooth connectivity with the ipad utter pain in the backside.
Simply superb, this watch is a must have if you want to take your running to the next level, great software, heart rate monitor is top class, you can even schedule your training on the connect site then sync it to your watch, it gives you the motivation to complete each work out every day and provides you with a great sense of achievement. Can’t fault this watch and definitely a good investment. One of the very few running trackers with gps and on wrist heart rate monitor that doesn’t need you to remortgage the house. The battery lasts around 5 days without using it for running but if i use it for tracking 10-15 mile runs over a couple of days it will need charging. It’s always lasted over a day unlike some i’ve seen.
Even us fat knackers can enjoy this watch. On the slow, long, journey to getting fit i decided the only way a man can truly be motivated is to spend serious money on gadgets. The watch works really well. As an everyday watch you will find it bulky at first but after a few days it feels as natural as any other watch i have owned. I am not a great watch guy, i can never find one that quite fits. I held on to my timberland watch for 12 years despite cracked screen and broken strap. The run features are good for a beginner. I was sceptical i would need them but i joined a running club and the welcome guide (basically a club regular who adopts you through the first year) helped me set up the watch to meet targets and programmes. To get your monies worth you need to be on a programme where you are using the data to help you. Heart rate monitor works well and matches the results to a professional measuring machine (borrowed one at my medical centre and tested it) within a few beats.
Great exercise watch but my skin does react to wearing it for long periods. I hunted reviews, it took me a year atleast and my requirements were:-* heart rate monitor built in (no chest strap)* heart rate zones displayed during exercise* gps (so i don’t need my phone strapped to me)* wireless upload to strava via phonebonus requirements* calories burned* sleep counterthis watch has them all but let me start with the watch its self. This watch looks really smart, it is big althought he lady version is a smaller unit. I wear it to work and it doesn’t look out of place. The face is large, high quality and easy to read. I have around 8 watches so i know a decent watch when i see it. The strap is wide and grippy, so no slipping when you’re working hard and sweating alot. The watch is easy to use with 5 buttons around the sides of the watch. The red button on the right hand saide (as you look at the watch) sets the watch ready for exercise and anothe press starts the watch recording your vitals. I use it or runs but also wear it in bed to track my sleep.

Continue to a truly excellent committed running product or service that signifies i am unlikely to. Proving to be responsible and in no way fails to choose up heart rate on my operates. The knowledge presentation on the garmin website web page is pretty distinct and interesting, way more exact than my apple iphone based application. My only ‘beef’ and it is really compact is that if you use it 24/7 for activity checking the battery lifestyle is only a day so i won’t be able to see when you would get to demand it is using the sleep watch technique at night. Continue to a truly fantastic committed running item that suggests i am not likely to use anything at all other than garmin.
A good garmin 305 replacement. A present for my spouse who is a serious runner and a long time consumer of garmin 305 (it was stolen following ten yrs) the 225 is a great alternative as 1) it is not a touch-display screen (can be annoying when you happen to be sweaty), two) the heart rate watch functions definitely properly. (minus a strap on the chest), 3) it would’ve been good if maps can be exhibited though running, though. In any case thank you garmin for a wonderful item.
Excellent watch, appreciate it – just a few of niggles. As a creature of behavior, i was incredibly reluctant to swap my antique forerunner 205. This was irrespective of the charging cradle getting broken (elastic band remedy), my canine acquiring chewed the display screen and it remaining the sizing of a smaller house.I last but not least took the plunge and after a little bit of research, i determined on the 225 – not the lowest priced garmin model out there and definitely not the mot high priced. In actuality, the key issue in me selecting on the 225 was the wrist-based heart-rate keep an eye on, i have under no circumstances bought on with chest straps and believed that having heart-rate obsessed may well be an additional string to my bow. I have been working with this watch for a handful of weeks now and i am kicking myself for not upgrading faster, it is definitely great. The good:- a ton smaller than the 205 (but then all over again a house strapped to your wrist would be far too)- picks up gps satellites instantaneously, continue to some thing of a novelty, to be honest- good and responsive menu program, v quick- vibrate inform is first rate (you can tell i’ve been utilized to making use of an old watch)- heart rate keep track of seems to function correctly – i use it for running and squash (who understood i could get to two hundred bpm in the latter)- the car-bluetooth add is location on – is effective perfectly each individual time- watch looks superior – first rate style – strap is pleasant- who understood that phase counting would develop into these an obsession – the watch does that far too if you want it to- battery looks previous agesthe negative (really scraping the barrel listed here)- i am a stato (clearly) and discovered on a latest run that the tempo displayed on the watch failed to feel to change very frequently (it’s scarce i operate a extremely flat speed) – i. It lags behind or isn’t going to catch up.
The watch was as good as ecpected it worked well straight from the box. The watch was as good as ecpected it worked well straight from the box. However it has developed a fault with the heart rate monitor hence the 4 star rating rather than a 5. When i contacted amazon to inform them of this they agreed to replace the item with absolutely no quibbles, so amazon gets a 5star rating. If the replacement watch works swell as the first without coming faulty the i would have no qualms about uprating the watch to 5stars.
Great keeping a watch on how far you’re walking each. Great keeping a watch on how far you’re walking each day, you can edit how many strides you take per 100m for a more accurate pacing. Hr is really good, slight delay with bpm but nice to review after working out rather than during the workout. Using the workout mode really runs down the battery though so make sure you keep and eye on the battery if you’re using it daily. Despite the battery, amazing buy, would wait for black friday or see if the watch is on sale before buying.
But i do like the accuracy of the gps and the heart rate. Not the easiest device to use, and the app/pc interface is not as user-friendly as fitbit. But i do like the accuracy of the gps and the heart rate monitor, and ease of viewing stats as one runs. Accurate and useful bit of kit. Great piece of kit that works well with the corresponding app. Appears to be accurate and provides relevant info that thankfully doesn’t require you to access countless menu options.
I don’t normally write reviews, but this watch has been the best purchase i have made in a long time. Initially i purchased a garmin fr15 but it was chunky and the strap felt cheap. I knew it would have ended up on my shelf collecting dust in no time. So i returned it and purchased the fr225 and i’m so glad i did. I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now and it hasn’t left my write. I was actually replacing an activity tracker as i wanted more data and information but i was worried that the watch may not have been as inconspicuous. Truth is you do realise you’re wearing it, but it doesnt really bother me. It looks fantastic so i can wear it with almost any attire. I’ve only just charged it after i got it so the battery life is amazing.
Great running watch with very accurate heart rate measurement. For the first time i now have a running watch that does it all: track my run, checks my heartrate and even records my cadence and all three are very accurate. I don’t have to wear straps and food pods any more. The interface is easy to use and the connection via gps only takes a couple of seconds. The screens are easy to customize. Another great feature is that it also tracks steps and sleep during day / night. I’ve had it for just over a month now and can highly recommend it.
Great running watch but beware the bluetooth connectivity. Great running watch but beware the bluetooth connectivity. Worked fine first few days then have had to reset watch a number of times, seems to have improved but still errors here and there on mobile syncs. Check out the garmin forums – looks like this is a big problem with the watch – perhaps software updates will get this fixed – if so i would increase the rating to 5 stars as decent interface, good gps and hr tracking with garmin connect full of useful data. update wow – how buggy is garmin connect ?. Try a change of training plan and enter download hell. There are bugs galore with the software that transfers data to the watch such as training schedules. This looks like a long time problem garmin has had with all its devices and never bothered to really attend which is something of a disgrace. Read the garmin connect app feedback in the apple store and i thought the android version sucked.
Great upgrade from the forerunner 110. Great upgrade from the forerunner 110. Not used the hrm as much as i thought i would, but i use it everyday for work and workouts. Easy to use and uploads to phone are pretty quick. Gps aquisition is a lot faster than the 110, which was one of the main reasons i wanted to upgrade. 2 in session screens lets you personalise how you work out. Loads of functions i havent used, but overall a really great addition to my training.
Worked well and battery life good. I purchased for the man versus mountain 2015 event and the watch lived up to expectations. Battery life was a concern but easily handled the 8 hour event with life left after being on heart rate and gps settings for the whole time. The heart rate monitor only dropped out once and needed a quick wipe to start reading properly. The screen displays can be changed to give tailored data depending on training. Elevation was great for snowdon to see how much higher to had to climb. Need to use the provided docking unit to charge, plugs into usb, although this does protect the back of the watch when not in use. The optical sensor for heart rate monitoring is on the back so need to be careful. Not used the garmin app yet to unable to comment on that. Plenty of other features like records which update at the end of training and is waterproof.
The watch was easy to set up and pair via bluetooth to my. Never had a hr monitor before & now i have one i’m fascinated with the stats i have on hr & cadence. It’s definitely helped with my training. The watch was easy to set up and pair via bluetooth to my galaxy s6 & a garmin connect account, and to pair the garmin connect with strava. All activities are uploaded via bluetooth now. Only issue is that i keep having to turn the watch and my phone off in order to upload an activity. Minor glitch only a slight pain. Other than that i love this watch.
A excellent watch to inspire you to operate, and retain running. My new yrs resolution was to get fit and using up running is component of that objective. Now i appreciate a bit of know-how, and everything that can convert a middle aged 40 anything from sofa potato to getting able to do a 5k in a fair time is truly worth a consider. 1st off this watch does not pounds as well a great deal, the dimensions is ideal for my wrist and the rubber strap doesn’t irritate. It appears to be really attractive in black. The various menu choices are navigated by 4 buttons in every single corner and it performs very well. It comes with a cradle charger that has to join to a usb. I would have liked to see a standard plug charger bundled. I consider there are some third bash products coming soon here. The watch is waterproof, so can be utilised in swimming but will not consider the heart rate observe functions in this scenario, so it would fundamentally just evaluate your education time.
The watch feels really inexpensive, but it is quite purposeful. I don it as am activity watch as perfectly as a running watch. The heart rate watch appears to be rather precise and gps locks truly rapidly. Only challenge is the standard complications with garmins application and site remaining temperamental. My aged fr10 experienced a excellent pace facility which this lacks and the quantities on the 225 are smaller sized and can be harder to study, but ok. The watch picks up my iphone instantly and. The watch picks up my iphone instantly and the gps signal within a minute or so. The heart rate function works well most of the time – it has had a few blips where it suddenly shot up and then lost signal. It has a whole range of useful functions – i liked the mile updates for example. However i have only had the watch a few weeks so battery life and reliability cannot yet be accurately assessed.
In my opinion it is the best value and most excellent running watch you can buy on the market today in august 2015. I picked this up for a great price from amazon on the day of release in july 2015 and it was delivered ahead of schedule, so was pleased with the value and service. Having previously had a forerunner 10 for around 2 years, i opted to upgrade to this new model for extra features. The watch itself is simply superb. It has all the functions i wanted and basically combines an activity minitor with a running watch. I’d previously not been too fussed about heart rate monitoring but since having this feature, (and no chest strap) it added a third dimension to training and analysing your data and now i love this ability to assess my runs in an extra way. The quality is garmins best, the display is bright and clear, the watch is really very comfy despite the bands width, it is lightweight also. The bluetooth pairing to my nexus5 and data upload to the garmin connect app can be done within a minute.
