Great watch, very happy with it.
The perfect body assistant – walking, trekking, hiking, swimming, etc. It could register almost every planned activity. The only thing that i miss here is a pedometer. But, nevertheless, this is an amazing device.
Every features on this watch works greatthe problem that i have login issue with moveslink 2, which means it could not sync with my pcanother issue is suunto android app sync extreme slow.
There are many possibilities for the ambit3 and i am using it for only one month. Main use of it is swimming and yes it can measure heart beats while swimming. It measure also intervals and rest time. Water temperature is quite precise because the nice watch width. But, because this is a very complex device for many different types of sports, i am still learning to use it. So far, i am very satisfied with it.
Very good, consistent piece of equipment.
Great watch, but its getting dated with the new garmin’s being full color.
The gps function is right on the mark. Suunto has recently released a beta version of movescount for android which still has a few bugs but in no time will be a great tool for updating your moves with out connecting to a computer. This watch replaced my 6 year old suunto t3c. I was hesitant to purchase due to price but found through amazon at over $100 less than retail.
I bought this watch as a gift for one of my co-workers. He’s still learning some of the features of the watch but what he’s learned so far.

This watch rocks and the sapphire version with the silver color contrast makes for sporty / more elegant time piece. Basically, its got function and form and while the all black version is great, i’m super happy with the sapphire version. Definitely putting it to great use for running, hiking and swimming and can’t wait to take it on vacation in a couple of months.
This is by far the best watch i’ve owned. Movescount app works well with iphone 6. I also wear the heart rate monitor (which i’ve never done before) just to measure the calories i burned. I’m not much of a swimmer but i have worn it several times in the pool and lake. I’m not a tech guru and this watch was simple to operate.
This is the best backwoods, do everything, i love to be in the great outdoors watch i have ever used. I’ve owned every model of gps watch from suunto and garmin, and this is my favorite. There are specific ones for triathlons, cycling, etc. Plus the sapphire model is nearly indestructible.
All working just fine so far.
Functional & a very good looking watch.
If you are worried about the size, don’t be. It’s stylish, and incredibly capable of providing you with the information you need to train harder and track progress.
I firmly believe that suunto makes the best hardware in the gps watch market and the ambit3 peak sapphire is no exception. With that said, movescount (which is critical to its functionality) seems to be very poorly supported. As an example, it took them 3-4 weeks to fix a frustrating time zone glitch from an update that affected users all over the world except for those in finland’s timezone.
I have not had a single issue. The data available on movescount is a great tool. Heat map and suunto movie options are cool. The steel bezel looks way better than the standard black peak. I have used it in a lot of activities and it works great.
I’ve had a couple watches like this and i think they are awesome.
Excellent product, i’ve been using it for 2 weeks now, great quality, fast to get the gps signal and to pair with the hr belt. Also great integration with iphone thru movescount app.
I just buy it for my friend.
I purchased a garmin watch, their most expensive, high-end gps watch, and i should have purchased this one instead. The battery life is fantastic. It has bluetooth and connects to my phone almost like an iwatch, and i can read my texts right on my watch and don’t have to take my phone out of my pocket. The gps finds a signal about 3-5 seconds everytime and is easy to navigate. What i like as well is that the screen has large numbers (and i’m getting older) so it’s nice to not have to put on my reading glasses just to see the watch face. The menus are nice and the display is easily customizable. Also, the display can be ‘inverted’ so instead of black numbers on a grey background (like the picture) just by holding down one of the buttons you can change it to a black background and white numbers; which is pretty cool and i wish my garmin had that. It has a lot more features and is a far better watch at almost half the price of my garmin.
I’ve been running & cycling with my suunto for about 8 months now and i would recommend it over the garmin any day. It has a good site with plenty of information for analysis – but you do need an internet connection (the only drawback). And the quality so far is great. Good battery life, easy to read without glasses.
Love it, just wish that it would stay synched with my moto-x android phone.
Nice watch,i take it when go to swim, and it can help me to count the distance in the swimming pool.
His function is very powerful, it is no doubt, i think dial metal easily scratched, comfort strap good, but too easy to stick dust.
I purchased this gps watch back in march 2013. It has been rock solid and i absolutely love it. I run a lot of miles and i run ultra marathons. Long battery life is essential. A truly great swim, bike, run and all other sports tool.
Easy to use and works, looks, and feels great.
Excellent product, is what i was looking for. Excellent seller, i recomended.
I’ve owned this for several months now and have used it extensively on three continents in a range of outdoor and indoor pursuits including running, rowing, general fitness, backcountry and lift-served skiing, biking, white-water rafting, and as a backup navigational aid. Overall this is/was a great product with a surprisingly long battery life considering the refresh and accuracy rates i typically use on my gps. The display is large and easy to read, and the ability to customize the display information to show different metrics is awesome. The activity monitor is a “neat” feature with some pretty advanced functions for cardio-zone planning and the ability to use mets information to set your watch up to accurately interpret your workouts. Also cool is the suunto movescount movie function using the app that has made for some cool clips in personal ski films. The biggest failure of this product so far is its reliance on movescount, which has proven to be unreliable, buggy, and inconvenient. When i first purchased this watch, the poi / location features worked quite well, and i uploaded many coordinates on two continents that i needed to have for basic navigation and emergency use. After an update, this functionality was completely broken, and i initially received conflicting information from suunto on the root cause of this issue. The good news is they do answer their phone and speak clear proper english on the tech line, the bad news is the engineers/programmers in charge of movescount can’t seem to get this thing working. Suunto most recently admitted that they broke the functionality and “fixed” it with an update, however this did not work.
The bluetooth connection with the cell phone is handy when you are training and receive calls or messages. The heart monitor belt now includes sensors that replace the foot pod so you don’t need it anymore.
This is my first gps wrist unit. And the menu items i can’t find i have found online through a very helpful community of owner/users and developers. Terrific tool to increase fitness and recovery.
