Ourtime Xinyi X01S Standalone Smartwatch Android System Phone WRISTWATCH SMARTPHONE – Smart Watch – Great at the second attempt !!

I was given this watch as a present, but after three days had to send it back as the battery would only last about 7 hours and then suddenly went flat. The replacement does everything i want, phone, messages and email, together with any of the android apps. As well as google maps i installed the off-line mapping app. I did cheat on the set-up and used a bluetooth keyboard (under £10 from amazon) to set up google accounts etc. , it is much quicker than the watch keypad, which is obviously minute. Once set up the watch keyboard is adequate for normal use. The battery tells me it lasts 8 days, when fully charged and left for a couple of hours with airplane mode on, but in practice you should get two days of reasonable use. Most people will charge is each evening to ensure you have plenty of power in hand. For me this is the ideal solution for keeping in touch but most people will not want to give up their phone for it, however it can be used with a phone, fully with android, partly with apple.

11th may – i really want this to work but i have now had 2 delivered, the first was returned because it wouldn’t last longer than 6 hours on battery, with gps, wifi and bluetooth all off – average use of 4 or 5 whatsapp messages, a couple of texts and a 2 minute conversation in a day. Obviously that just isn’t right and bearing in mind another review quoted the same, i felt that i had another ‘dud’ – perhaps from the same batch as his. The replacement (arrived today and thank you amazon prime but my ‘safe place’ for delivery is not on the windscreen of my wifes car in full view of the road just 3 metres away on a driveway with no fence or gate to keep out predators. ) – i cannot vouch for the battery capacity but it will not maintain a wifi connection, the gps does not work at all and the signal reception for 3g is very flakey dropping the signal so badly that sms messages are very difficult to send. I do suspect that this one has already been ‘out and back’ because the battery was already charged to 28%, there was at least one additional app installed (mail) compared to the first item delivered and the strap shows signs of brief wear. If so, this would explain the problems maybe. All in all i’m really disappointed – if it actually worked as it should (the first one for example was fantastic – simply a battery problem) then i would be delighted with it. Maybe quality control needs to actually test these items or maybe amazon who are fulfilling the orders need some assurances of quality form the manufacturer?.I am sending this second unit back asap and will not be trying another.

This watch is very well designed. The fastest i’ve owned to date. Works perfectly well with my o2 pay as you go sim. 3g signal when available also capable of downloading apps fast when not on wifi. Battery life seems very good. Just turn off things you don’t need all the time such as bluetooth or gps and you’ll get about 2 days with medium usage.

HUAWEI Band 4 Pro- Smart Band Fitness Tracker, 4.5 stars

Have had it since saturday and am pretty impressed. Battery is still @ 80% after having tracked 2* 1 hour jogging sessions, a walk and trusleep enabled 2 nights in a row. Gps seems accurate as compared to my phone (p20 pro). During jogging discrepiancy was i think 100m. It was about 200m during the 4 k walk where i took frequent nt stops ( so have to investigate what happens during the stops). Wheather at the time was also really bad. Sleeping tracking as far as i can tell is ok ( obviously difficult to asses but number of wake periods at night was correct). It is really great that it is waterproof as well. I am deducting one star since health app is not perfect. For example it is not very clear what data is dispalyed on the home page – phone or band and app. Setup out of the box took 20 mins on my phone. I use it mainly for tracking outdoor running.
